This gong by Sona is ideal for movement in the room and especially for synchronous play with two or more gongs.

The sound energy effect can be reliably controlled over the entire dynamic range. This makes Sona Gongs a precise means of expression for the sound artist and a reliable basis for comparative and transferable statements in music therapy.

These gongs are made out of alpaca - nickel silver, a rolled metal - in contrast to the chinese Feng and TamTam gongs, which are cast from up to 7 metals. The rim is bent with many hammer blows. At the transition from the rim to the surface, many hammer blows are also used to determine the timbre. The center is turned out with a sharp iron tool.

Intentionally loud playing should be built up by slowly and repeatedly striking the gong with increasing force. Sudden loud sounds can lead to sound trauma or hearing loss.
