This massive, large, very sturdy Forest Xylophone made out of peeled robinia logs is built for permanent outdoor use. The special suspension and bearing of the notes allows a clean, resonating sound that is fine and powerful. Even if someone walks over the notes, the bars continue to sound. The included mallets are also sturdy and suitable for continuous outdoor use.

A special feature of this 7-tone Forest Xylophone is that the bars are all the same length, but tuned differently. The lower support is separated in the middle and the instrument can be opened in both directions, so that you can sit between the notes while playing. Robinia, also called acacia is weatherproof and can be stored for many years outdoors if it is peeled and free of sapwood.

It is possible to build the instrument on a stone frame (ask your landscaper), this raises the playing surface so that wheelchair users can approach the notes and at the same time it creates a resonance chamber.

The notes can be played in the middle, but also at the edge, at both places they sound powerful.
