The feeltone Tinka Tong Alto is the smallest wooden slotted drum on the market. The fine work that goes into it, on the other hand, is not much less than a drum three times the size or a metal slotted drum. Tuning must be just as precisely tuned, and the shape and surface wants to be a hand-pleaser. The materials are made of the same high quality precious woods as their big siblings. We strive to process these valuable woods, which provide us the trees, as completely as possible..
The pentatonically tuned 6 notes are intuitively arranged so that when played rhythmically, a kind of random pattern/random melody is created. Play patterns that please are repeated, from time to time a tone breaks out and new fantasies of sound are explored..
With mallets can simply be struck or dribbled rhythmically and clearly in succession. That is, one lets the rubber ball of the mallet dope on the tongue and holds the stem thereby in such a way, as if one wants to remain on the tongue, thereby the soft rubber ball is sprung back. If you now let the springing slide not only on one, but over several tongues fascinating sound patterns are created. This can be combined with simply striking the reeds. The drum can also be held in the finger hole and played one-handed with fingers or a mallet.
The small slotted drums speak thelanguage of the forest, the woods and the trees. They convince By their cheerfulness, handiness and clarity. With the Tinka Tongs we have given the slit drums a new joy of playing, lightness and mobility. Almost all playing, melody and rhythm techniques can be played with these slit drums. With the Tinka Tongs I, Ingo Böhme, have fulfilled my wish for slit drums that are rather struck with the fingers. They sound quiet and gentle and can be combined well with other instruments such as kalimbas, spacedrums or flutes.
Fine feeltone craftsmanship from high quality materials, lovingly made from plank to tuning in the northeast of Germany on the beautiful Baltic Sea and shipped all over the world.
